2024 Chevrolet Custom 1500 instrument panel lighting.

Hi, I purchased this truck a few days ago and I’m having trouble adjusting the instrument panel lights at night. No matter what setting the instrument panel is on, it’s really dark at night. THANK YOU! Please help!

Since no one has replied to your posting. Read your owners manual. Lots of good info in there.

Maybe the light sensor on the dash isn't working. 

 

You're using these buttons?

 

Usual complaint I hear about is that the dash can (especially the centre screen) won't go dark enough at night.

When the dash is not dark enough at night it messes with night vision, making more difficult to see down the road.

Thank you for the information. I tried the owners manual and I’m still experiencing the same issue.

Were you able to get any answers on this? I have the same exact issue in the dealership claims there’s nothing wrong with the truck. My interior lights are way too dark at night.

If holding either of the 2 buttons in Sept 8 post doesn't lighten or darken the display at night, take it in -- because they should.

 

Imo. hidden behind the wheel and blinker stalk is a crappy place to but them. 

 

I find they need to be held, rather than just tapped, to change dash lighting enough to be noticable.

 

Turning dash down definitely improves night vision, and perceived headlight effectiveness. 

These large video screens make if more necessary to turn the dash lighting down at night.

After thinking about your post a little I agree with you. If you have held the dash light buttons in like redwngr suggested then there is probably nothing you can do. I have a 23 Custom TB and I can adjust the analog dash dimmer and brighter but on the brightest setting the dash is a little dimmer than I would like. So this may be a normal condition. May have to do with preserving your night vision during nightime driving.

I wish it would adjust automatically. Another set of buttons to press upon startup, just like the auto start stop.
