2024 Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel (Ebay) Upgrade

After purchasing my new High Country, I was less than impressed with the steering wheel thickness.  The Tundra I had and the Ram before it had a far thicker steering wheel, which I preferred. The Ram had wood inlaid into the top of the wheel that I also liked.  This new wheel feels very high quality and I'm pressed with the look and feel.  

 

I was looking across ebay and found this wheel:

Final Product Installed is attached, airbag removal, and old photo. The job wasn't very difficult.

 

Tools Needed:

T50 Torx w/ extension

10mm Socket

T15 torx 

Plastic interior pry tool so you don't mar any plastics

Blanket so you can work the old and new steering wheel without scratching anything

2 small flat head screwdrivers to remove airbag plugs

 

Notes:

Disconnect battery (10mm socket)

Pry the two access panels off the back of the wheel to access the 10mm bolts to remove the airbag

I used an impact Gun to get the steering

Take pictures of the interior wiring so you know where things go

T15 screws are on the back of the wheel, note the order you take them out.  All go in at the end after you put all of the switches and plastic covers back on

prefer the stock wheel. camaro style wheel looks completely out of place in a truck unless your going for that lowered sports truck look, it may get a pass

It appears the not centered airbag comes from the factory. Mine also sits noticeably to the right.
