well guys....this Chevy guy just went out and did the unthinkable.....bought a ford :thumbs:

 

needed a small suv for the wife as we had a baby last October and her import racer wasn't exactly the best family car.

 

was looking at pretty much everything and wanted a trailblazer but they were a bit outside my price range. The blazers were most likely the next choice until I saw the crash results :P not good!!!!

 

and then I stumbled upon a 2000 Ford explorer xlt with a bunch of options with 23000 miles on it that was just traded by an old guy who hardly drove it. After a test drive and a bunch of haggling, ended up getting it for $14000 with a 3/36k dealer warranty too...not a bad deal not the best but I was fine with it and it got the wife off my back.

 

but now that we have one I see them everywhere....I need to make it different!!

 

does anyone know of any sites that are explorer related and/or any sites that give info on them?

 

being a Chevy guy, everything looks like a pita to work on

We finally got rid of our 96 Exploder and like Ryan said , got a Malibu.

I'll tell you what , this Malibu kicks @$$ :rolleyes: not only is it better in every way , but it has about the same amount of space as the Exploder did . The only thing I will miss is the four wheel drive .

I just finished up my ford ranger (if you want to know more, check out My dealership rant) and got an "exploder" sport for about 7 grand. Just right price-wise. I liked the trailblazer too, but too much money for a poor college boy. But hopefully it will be an explorer instead of an "exploder"

there's a few mods for my explorer sport

 

intake, exhaust, headers, plug wires, and WESTERS TUNE!!!

 

Those will set me back about $1000 (I'm not getting the plug wires)

 

250 intake

250 exhaust

350 headers

315 for westers

 

I know my math isn't right, so maybe $1100 or $1200, but whatever

 

I pretty good website with addons is Truck Performance

Hello there...

 

Being a little lazy, I did not read all the way through this thread to see if you found a good Explorer site. I used to have an Explorer Sport before my Tahoe and I used to frequent Explorer Forum for info and Explorer Express for specific parts.
