What is w/ GM thinking this is a must have feature? Honda tried it years ago and dropped it. I was in Oshawa Truck when the QS4 (Quadrasteer) option was available on the GMT800s. I can probably count on 1 hand how many I've seen in the ensuing years. For those that don't know, they had a distinctive 'semi stepside' box side. Yes the $3000 price tag likely scared off most, but even then no other OEMs thought it worth their while to offer something similar.

GM's Quadrasteer (QS4) system offered rear-wheel steering for better maneuverability and towing, but it didn’t catch on. The $3,000 price tag and added complexity made it too expensive for many buyers, and it didn’t offer enough practical benefits for the average truck owner. Similarly, Honda’s attempt with rear-wheel steering in the Odyssey also failed to gain traction. Ultimately, both companies discontinued these systems due to limited demand and high costs.

A practical party trick on a $90,000 EV truck lol.

They probably figured with as wide as these EV trucks are and how rear steer is probably cheap to do they figured they'd have a go at it again.

Q-steer had a 3.0 version that never hit the market too that had a narrower rear and a standard bedside but never made it past a couple test trucks.  +

Looking @ the axle they used, & seeing that in Canada's oil patch @ the time all the company trucks (34 & 1 tons, there were Fords & Dodges, I thought the money would've been better spent on a really HD 4x4.

That all being said, GM pretty much had the personal use market sewed up in Alberta.

I didn't know it was available on the full-time SUVs.

Yea 3/4 ton Burb and Yukon XL.

Funny thing about those is though they just put a larger fender flare on it with marker lights and kept the regular rear quarter panel, where the pickups they went and made a specific box side that was wider, almost a 1/2 dually wide style setup.

Also another thought on why its made a comeback on the EVs is they are independent rear suspension so its probably that much easier to implement vs. the solid axle way they used on the Q-steers.
