I tow a similar sized trailer (cargo not snowmobile) with my 23 High Country 6.2.

When I stick around 55 mph I can get 13-14 . Go up to 70 mph and it drops to 8-9 mpg. That extra 15 mph sucks the gas.

Also the wind plays huge too.

I appreciate your time and the answer. I guess I just need to slow down a little bit. Thanks again.

While not exactly the same situation, I can back up the fact that speed kills MPG when towing.  With my 2013 Avalanche (5.3, 6 speed), anything over 60 or so would destroy MPG quickly when towing my car (open uhaul trailer, 2015 MX-5, combined, about 5200lbs) or a camping trailer (about 7000lbs).  I don't have direct use of the newer 5.3's and transmissions but I've seen similar with my 3.0 diesel above 65-70 when hauling the same car/trailer combo (albeit, much higer mpg numbers, I still see a drop off significantly).

I have a 2024 Sierra 1500 5.3L 10speed with 3.23 rearend and I pull a 6000 lb camping trailer. My last trip was from north Florida where I live up to Ohio then up to Halifax Nova Scotia, CA and back. My camper was pretty loaded down so I assume my weight was close to 9k with what I had in the bed. And your milage was pretty close to what I was seeing.
