No more racing at the Rock?

I just heard on SPEED News that Nextel Cup is saying they will not be back to the Rock next year and the date will most likely go to Phoenix or Texas.

THAT SUCKS!!!!!!

I've got no problem with new tracks, and I know some dates have to be given up for the new tracks, but why don't they just have one race at each track so they can have thirtysome tracks and let the older tracks keep one date. I'll be really ticked if Texas gets that date. I hope this was misinformation.

I watched the race and they mentioned not having a sell out, but they didn't say for sure they would not be there next year. I think with the finish they had today they should continue to go there; lights would definately draw a crowd and a later date. NASCAR should never, NEVER forget its roots. the southeast is saturated with tracks because thats where it was born and should remain. NASCAR should look into doing sectioanl swings. southwest to midwest to northeast to southeast this would alievate time and travel.

I hope they race the rock next year, It's one of the best tracks imo since you can run high, low, or inbetween.

Yeah I heard on ESPN that they were thinking about going to texas or arizona too. I really think it'll be a mistake if they skip the rock next year. Are they still doing 2 races at bristol like they used too or are they only doing one??
