No text messages aloud anymore??

My last truck was a 2019 Silverado LD/LT. It would always notify me when text messages came in and would play them aloud as well. My current truck (2023 Silverado LT) says I need an internet connection in order to hear my text messages aloud. What a bunch of crap! I have tried everything in the settings and nothing has helped. Is this the bottom line?? (I have an android phone, Samsung S23+)

yes, pay more and get less unless you pay more. my 2014 had avc my 2020 does not, why would GM take away such a nice feature who knows

My 22 ZR2 has a data plan. I use an IPhone 13. Use to get txt notifications and audio play back. Then it stopped working. Data plan still intact. No dealer or Informant OTA updates. My thought is something Apple did as that is all that has changed with IOS updates.

Mine read through CarPlay with no issues.

My S24 reads them fine hands free and can send text hands free. 2024 silverado LT. Connect your android auto.

I am on Android Auto. The text message notification will appear on my infotainment screen when a message comes in. I hit "play" and I get "An internet connection is required for this function."

That's strange.  Make sure you have your bluetooth and wifi turned on,on your phone.
