I have recently bought a Alpine 6.5" in dash dvd player to replace my old Kenwood. I have the sirius on the kenwood, but would like to know if there is a way to adapt the sirius to the alpine unit, which is XM ready. Thanks

I don't think they are...two completly different systems/frequencies/hardware.

You probably need one of those Plug And Play Sirius units to get Sirius on your Alpine HU.

sorry I might have misunderstood your question....yeah you can get one of those add on units like 99silver suggested, I thought you meant you wanted it to work through your HU interface.

Maybe I misinterperted his question. Im guessing he is wanting to adapt a Kenwood SR901/902 to his XM ready Alpine HU. Which I dont think is a possibility. The Alpine HU wont be able to function as the controller of the Sirius receiver. The plug and play units are fairly inexpensive and range from $99 to $160. Ranging in different sizes, shapes, makes and features. Some kits come with an antenna. Some kits require a vehicle docking kit which comes with the antenna. I recently got a small Brix Streamer antenna because I was tired of the huge Terk antenna on top of my truck. To me it was too noticable and stuck out like a sore thumb on my truck. Now I can barely see my new one. You can either use a direct link for the audio via RCA cables to your HU if it has an AUX in capability. Or the use of an FM modulator can be employed. Some say the FM modualtor produces better sound. This I am unsure of because I havent tried it.
