Hi everyone,

I have a 2019 Sierra SLE with about 85,000 kms on it and have now had to replace the starter on it twice. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on why this might be happening, if anyone else has had a similar issue with this vehicle or if there's anything I can do to extend the starter's life moving forward. We do live in a snowy area that has a lot of road salt in the winter - could this be my culprit?

Thank you!

has this been done by the dealer with new oem starter or an independant and aftermarket starter

Both times it was replaced new by the dealership

not where you live, i live in ontario, lots of sand ,salt and brine and i have almost double your mileage. it could be bad luck but i doubt it. i would load test the main battery cables and double check all the connections

They should definitely last longer that what you are experiencing.  Like silveradosid said, start checking terminal connections on the circuit, and grounds.
