Drivers side seat seems loose ?

My 1999 GMC NBS drivers side seat track seems to move a little when you hit the brakes, or accelarate. It's a power seat. Anybody else have this problem?

I have also noticed this same thing happen to mine, but it's a 2002. Not all the time, but every once in a while...don't know what causes it either.

I seem to remember people talking about that awhile ago. It has something to do with the seat track... I can't remember if there is a TSB though...

My 97 tahoe had the seat track replaced three times in the 8 months I had it for that same problem

I had the seat tracks on my 97 replaced 3 times for the same thing. Worn out seat tracks. They would last about a year each. Then again my wife drove the truck a lot too and she is 5'1" and I'm 5"10 so it was always being moved back and forth. Hopefully the 03 lasts longer since she has only driven it maybe 3 times and the seat stays put!

I have seen a seat track problem in my 99 Silverado and my dad's 99 Silverado. If you pull the seat out and look inside the tracks, there is a plastic piece that helps to unlatch the seat to slide forward. This plastic piece broke in both trucks. Once the seat is flipped back in the upright position, it will not latch in place, because the plastic piece doesn't release the lock mechanism on the rail. The easiest thing to do is remove the plactic piece. The seat will lock in place properly after that, but you lose the ability of the seat to automatically unlatch and slide forward for entry into the back (not a big deal in my book). It is a pretty easy fix.

Any one have more information on this. Mine is doing it too. Power seats on the driver side one doing it. Just a little shift when you first get in and under some breaking. Enough movement to drive you nuts. My seat stays put in one place so I don't think it could be from wear. I can probably count the number of time the seat position has been changed over the past three years on one hand.

Sometime I don't feel the shift but usually first thing in the morning I do.
