What makes the issue most frustrating is it’s inconsistent. I’ve not been able to pinpoint a rhyme or reason. Time of day it happens, temperature, location, all different. And, it never happens consecutively, meaning if it’s happened and I turn off the truck and get out, go inside, and next time I start it to go somewhere, it works again.

Back from the dealership, not sure how another radio reprogram will solve it, but I guess I will see 🤞

It's a rolling computer with wheels, welcome to modern day vehicles. Looks to me like the loaded up a different file then what was on it. Who knows if that contains the fix or if this is just a glitch, even my 14 has had at times random loss of screen and or sound. Most times restarting the car or truck will fix said issue though.

Well I’m back after 10 months of ownership and the audio issue continues. In February I tried another dealership and showed them the videos I took when there was no audio. The service advisor pulled the VIN, said there was a bulletin on it (said he wondered why the selling dealership didn’t do this) and needed to replace the amplifier. Brought it in, had it replaced, thought all would be good. About 2 weeks ago, same thing happened, and also today. Tried the reset holding the steering wheel button to no avail. This would be the fifth time bringing it back…I wish I knew if there was a loose ground or something causing this, I’m really fed up with this. 🤦‍♂️

Hi. I've got a 26 RST. I've had the no audio a couple of times also. It's not related to Apple car play. I've got android. It kinda seems to me you have to turn off the truck and get out to possibly get the remote away from the truck. I came back after a couple of minutes and it was good. I know it shouldn't be that way and is aggravating. I've had mine since March. There was no problem with my 2020.

Thanks, I’ve never had the audio/sounds not come back once I’ve turned the truck off and came back later. But as you said, it is aggravating and SHOULD NOT be this way. Maybe I’ve been more frustrated since the first time it happened was only 2 days after buying the truck brand new.

Well it was a short live “fix”. Got in the truck this afternoon to same no audio issue. Tried the steering wheel reset, nope. Tried restarting in “safe mode”, nope. This time I wasn’t in a rush so I drove straight to the dealership, didn’t turn it off so they could see( which this is now the 7th video I took of it happening). They ran their code scanner, came back and said the next step is replacing the radio which they ordered and should be in next week… 🤦‍♂️

The no sound problem is the audio amplifier. The audio amp has a heatsoak issue in some circuitry which causes it to miss the wakeup handhake. If it doesn't respond within a certain time parameter, then you get no sound. I brought it in and had the software update, but after further testing the tech made the call for a new audio amplifer. The software update I belive gives more time for the amp to respond, but if the amp is defective then you can still get no audio at times. After the update it went 12 days before no sound. After doing some research, apparently the fix is a new (updated) audio amplifer, the circuitry internally has been improved to better deal with heat. I had to wait 2 1/2 weeks because at the time, it was on backorder with no eta. Well the amp came in earlier this week. I had the amp and programming work done today. After picking it up I stopped at a few places, and whenever I started my truck, the audio was on instantly, so whatever they did it appears to work because it's never had sound that quickly......Hope this helps

The amplifier was replaced in February and still happens, still waiting to hear from the dealer that the replacement radio came in.
