It shows that in my 2003 owners manual, but a buddy of mime just tried to order one they said that it is only available in the 2500 + models.

It's available in 1500 Series as in 1500 HD,Sierra C3/Denali,and Silverado SS only.

 

You also get it in the Escalade and Escalade EXT.

It shows it as a 1/2 ton option only because it is available as a part of some 1/2ton packages.

Yup yup, I just got off the phone with my local GMC dealer. This is TRUE. You CAN order a SCRB (GMC only) with the Denali 6.0L But they must be ordered. Dealers will not carry these on the lot. The gentleman on the phone told me these trucks were actually 365 hp (anyone?), and are extremely quick...maybe not SRT-10 or Lightning, but definatly a sleeper.

The 1500HD only comes in crew cab and has

a GVW of 8600 #. This couldn't be the HD.

The 1500HD gets a MT1 Transmission AKA 4L80E. This truck will have the M32 AKA 4L65E. The Denali currently gets the LQ4 6.0L. This truck will have the LQ9 6.0L which is the HO version of the 6.0L that is currently offered in the Escalades and Silverado SS. The Denali will not get the LQ9 6.0L until 2005.
