2025 3500 LTZ air conditioning slow to start cooling

I have noticed that my new 2025 duramax is slow to start blowing cold air on initial startup.  It only blows kind of cool-ish air regardless of the temp/ac settings. If i restart the truck, say like after driving across the street to fuel up, upon restart it blows very cold air.

Could be low on refrigerant but check or replace the cabin filter first.

The truck is brand new.  And it cools rapidly after a brief drive and restart.

My 2024 can be a little slow (maybe 10-15 seconds max) from turning on the AC to getting cold air after the truck has sat for a while. After that it is nearly instant.

 

If yours is a lot worse it might be worth a trip to the dealer for them to check out.

Normal on these GMs, mine was factory low on freon and still takes about 1-2min to cool on first start up but the rest of day will stay cold even on startups. Just how the system is programed.
