Heater/blower fan intermittent

Gents any ideas with this?

64000 miles it stopped blowing a few weeks ago, so I pulled over and shut the truck off, and then restarted everything and it worked again.

Now it stops and won't work even if shutting truck down and trying again, then it randomly will start working again.

Dash has never been apart etc.

Thought of going to the dealer is frightening, as they will try and sell me some lug nut fluid or something.

Pacific Northwest so I NEED heat and defrost this time of year.

I am quite adept of you have any ideas.

replace the blower motor, it has developed a dead spot.

also examine the connectors between the fan and the resistor pack, and the resistor pack and the main harness, as those connectors also commonly have problems with pins being damaged from passing current right at the limit of what they can handle.
