I purchased a new 26 SLT with the X31 package.  I was gonna go the factory 2” lift route, but the parts rep told me GM discontinued it.  My question is, if I buy the AT4 lengthed billstein 5100 shocks and a 2” block for the rear, Would that result in a net of 2” all around? On Reddit there’s some debate about still needing a 2” Spacer in the front or not.

I looked at my app and went to accessories and confirmed it did not show up for my 26 RST either. I've been debating a lot lately about going back to a rough country kit like I had on my 2020, or spending twice as much on the dealer trail boss kit, but knowing it would be warrantied (knowing they couldn't make BS class against another lift). I guess I'll be going aftermarket. I was also slightly concerned about the front half shafts. I don't know if they are still using different ones for the trail bosses compared to other 4x4. Mine is an RST, but also Z71. I have the full metal leaf springs this time, where as my last 2020 RST had the composite.

you would definitely get 2" rear. As for the front, my last truck being diesel had a lot of weight in the front. My 3" lift did not gain me 3", a little less. Some lift kits now typically have slightly more in the front in order to have it leveled, where others give you same front and back and you'll have a rake to it. do your research and think about what you want

Does not show as discontinued in GM's system, just that there is no inventory.  85727269.

Yes you will need the 2" block but it also depends on the final rake you will like. 2" block would gain the factory trail boss look including rake.

Hey boss, just wanted you know I recently did this with my 2024 w/t 1500. If you use a 1” shackle in the rear with trail boss struts up front, it sits level. I’ll send comparison photos. Also keep in mind, I went from 255/70R17 tires to a new set of wheels and 275/70R18’s to match the ZR2.

 

the factory ranchos are super spongy and a lot like the shocks that came on the Silverados that didn’t have special packages. I had a set that wore out completely at 25,000 miles. Skip the ranchos and get the Bilsteins. You’ll save money and get a better, longer lasting product. 
 

the 2” lift also comes with CV axles. YOU DO NOT NEED THESE if and ONLY IF you are just going with the 2” lift. If you go any higher in the front, you need the CV’s AND upgraded upper control arms.

PLEASE keep in mind, I swapped the grille, added the side step bars, rear fender liners, removed the air deflector on the bottom of the front bumper, and downgraded license plates to avoid paying the government more money than they absolutely have to have…..but I promise it’s the same truck. There is more than a year’s difference between these two photos.

I used a 1” shackle with urethane bushings and grease fittings for a level look. I love it. The new Falken Wildpeaks ride better than the duratracs I had on the last one from factory.

Did you guys that added a 2” up front add the longer TB sway bar links?

 

I have a ‘24 1500 Z71 4wd that I’d like to bump up 2”. Possibly go 2.6” in the front. I have new UCAs. 
I have a fiberglass topper so I’m going 2” front and rear. It has about 11/16” rake so it’s fairly level. 

Any correct part numbers for the TB axles?

 

It seems sketchy to not swap them knowing Chevy added longer ones to the TB. 

Now I’ve heard that they are a little longer but more importantly is that they handle higher articulation angles. But can’t confirm.

The only thing I did was the struts upfront, and it rides fine. No swaybar links necessary, no CV axles needed… Just transfer the top part of your strut, and bolt it back up to the truck. No issues. Additionally, I’ve done a little bit of offloading myself… Haven’t had anything break.

The factory 2" kit comes with the CV axles for a reason.  Its because those CVs are installed from the factory on the Trail Boss/AT4 trucks, and are NOT installed on a regular truck.  

 

You have to install the CVs that come with the kit.  That's why they send them.

Those simply pop out and back in, correct?
