From day one, my Google Pixel 8 Pro phone will not charge in my '25 Sierra wireless charger. Tried moving it around in all positions with no change. It shows charging on the dash screen icon, initially shows charging on the phone for a few seconds then blinks and repeats. End result is it actually discharges the phone. Also tried a Pixel 10 Pro, no difference and no phone case(bare). These same phones work as advertised in a home wireless charger and Verizon in-store wireless charger. Verizon has been no help.

I've been to two dealers and get the same response, charges techs phone fine(non Google phone). The second dealer even replaced the charger under warranty with no improvement. I even started a service ticket through GM, end result was them checking with my dealer and telling me the problem is on Google's end.

Has anyone been able to get their Pixel phone to work in the truck wireless charger?

You don't appear to be alone.

Some tried some sort of adapter and had good luck.  Otherwise I'd just use wired charging and be done with it.  I have wireless charging in my Equinox EV and I don't use it or have used it maybe twice in the 5 months I've owned it.  Otherwise I use USB.

My Google 9A charges fine.  Have you tried updating your phone lately or a soft reset?

I have and keep checking for phone updates with no improvement.

I was hoping someone may have come across a fix. First truck with a wireless charger, figured I should be able use it but can definitely get by without it.

Some more.

It seems to be hard to pinpoint.  I've tested my iPhone XS and now my 16E which both have Qi style wireless chargers and they work fine in vehicles I've tested with wireless charging.  Haven't seen them stop charging either.

When I had the Pixel 8 (Pro) I had a similar issue. Resolution was to put it feet up (charging port towards the dashboard). After that, it charged just fine.

I now have a Pixel 10 Pro XL and it fails to charge in any orientation. 😡 I'm getting ready to order the "upgrade" part from 404 Parts. I just need to see what it will take to gain access to the underside of where the module is. Bit of a PITA to swap out. But if it will give me a Qi3 charger, or the ability to charge NEW devices for the next several years (at least 4-5) it will be worth it.

I've tried every direction with no change, GMC screen shows charging but it actually discharges the phone. Since the charger was replaced under warranty, I chalk it up to the phone being the problem. Other brand/model phones seem to work fine.

    • From where I'm sitting this sounds like a compatibility problem. I'm assuming the 2007 was a 900-series truck, and not an 800-series (they were sold side-by-side in dealerships that model year), since it starts and runs.   This is why I HATE post-2006 vehicles. Everything becomes a huge problem when you try to keep the thing running for longer than the manufacturer has designed it to.    I can't remember when Global-A architecture started - either '10 or '11. For your sake, you had better hope it's '11, or you're going to be spending some BIG money to correct this cluster-eff. That's something you need to find out before doing anything else. You may have several computers bricked ... but the fact that it runs tells me you MIGHT be ok here.     EDIT: Just did a quick refresher. You're screwed. This is Global-A. The 2 systems are NOT compatible in the slightest. Once you get the correct engine in there that IS compatible, you're going to need to see how many computers are locked. Absolute NIGHTMARE to straighten out, too. Your buddy might be better off cutting his losses and finding something else.   Welcome to post-2006 vehicle electronics. This is why I quit the industry, and drive nothing built after 1994. This stuff takes all the fun out of wrenching!

    • True, hard to say what differences there may or may not be between Chev and GM as well as a production year or mid year part change either.    I just found it odd that under the Sierra choice on the Autel that many of the last few years of production year did not include the choice of changing the tire pressure but if that is an Autel thing or a GM thing as to why the choices were not there. Knowing what tpms sensors are on the truck should give some guidance into which choices on the tool even make sense to try as I wouldn't give up just yet with the tool but I guess he will see what if anything he comes up with if he finds out a bit more info and tries a few more things on the Autel.
    • I'm sure if you went to a junkyard where you go in and pull the part off the truck yourself, not a used part place where they do it for you, you can get that part on it's own.  Depending on if and what else you would be buying, and time of day, they might even just skip over adding it as a item to the bill.
