I've got a 2006 Silverado 1500 with the common intermittent no-start issue that I've traced to the ignition switch, and I'm having trouble finding an OEM part without having to go to a dealer and pay those high prices.

Any idea where to find part number GM 15242754 for under $60? Thanks ahead.

PS All the links that google comes up with are 'out of stock.'

Whats your local dealership charging for it? If they can even get their hands on it.

I googled it and some of the GM parts websites show it's discontinued or not available. One website showed it was around $30 plus shipping.

Otherwise they are sell tons of them on the aftermarket because it's a common enough part.

But in the end if you want OEM, you're going to pay for it. Not sure I'd put up a fuss if the dealership charges $60+ for the OEM part.

Try an AC Delco dealer, they are often up to 50% cheaper for same parts.

Otherwise, pay the dealer or junk the truck.

PS - ebay has one left in stock.

That's an aftermarket switch.  Not OEM/ACDelco.  It will work, its just an aftermarket one is all.

All he cares about is $ so should be happy with that one?

Thanks or the advice everybody.  It seems the part it entirely discontinued.  I've gotten advice to look for Standard Motor Products (non T series), Delphi, BWD (non P series) or NAPA Echlin as the best alternative.
