Question on tires

What's the biggest size that I can successfully fit on a 04 2500HD with a 2" or 3" body lift, and alittle torsion bar cranking?

Also is there any kits to level out the front of the truck wtih the rear? Or should I say one that will not destroy the cv joints? lol

I have a set of American racing sliders 15x8 from my S-10 ZR2, but I doubt they'll hold the weight of this 2500hd. I may end up with some other nice off-road rim, wrapped in a swamper, or BFG m/t...

33x12.50 is probably the biggest you could go, but 33's would look sweet!

305's would fit fine with the 3" body lift. 315's would require some trimming

You're S10 wheels will not fit the HD bolt pattern - too few bolts

Is your 04 a Duramax? If so you cooler lines need to be modified to put a BL on I believe. If it is a gasser I would say a 3" BL and 305's on 16x8 wheels with at least a 4.5" back spacing would work.

Is there a leveling kit that destroys CV's?

With the 2500 serires being heavy, is there any kind of rim/wheel that is required or can I put anyone on that I like?

With a 305--Cant I put on a regular 33"-35" tire. Some places the standard tires are cheaper than metric....

Not sure if a 15" wheel would fit but I would think you would want at least a 16" wheel. Typically when they sat the size is a 33x11.5 it is a 15" tire. The 285/70's are typically a 16" tire. Both are 33x11.5 but the wheel size is different. Price really isn't that much different these days unless you are looking at cheapo tires which IMO would be a waste of money anyway. Your gonna want a wheel with a higher load rating but the ones you will find to fit the 8-lug application usually will be a higher load rating. Not a lot of custom wheels available forthe HD's! The tires should be atleast a "D" rated tire too. Or whats the point of the HD if you can't haul anything because of whimpy tires and wheels?

I don't think you can put 15" wheels on because there is no clearance for the brake rotors.

I've never been a fan of the body lifts on these trucks, I think you can see to much frame already, throwing it up 2 or 3 more inches just exagerates the fact. But I guess if you dont have the allison it won't sit up so high on the frame. I dunno......Im just talking out my a**.....going back to bed now.

I agree, you may want to look at a truck with a body lift and decide. You can see the whole frame of the truck and the front bumper looks HUGE because of the bigger gap. I would rather save up and wait for a suspension lift. If I had it to do all over again, I wouldnt lift it, and put an aggressive 285 on. That looks really good, and WAYYYYY less money! You save money on the lift, big tires, fuel economy and you get more power. In the long run, probably fewer problems. Thats just what I would do.
