ordered westers...little worried

looking for soem opinions on the westers for the 2003 model year. i have a sonoma 4.3 and ordered a westers...however now im hearing that you need high octane gas...which i dont feel like using all the time and that you have to return some core thing...which i dont know what it is. so im a little worried now. anyone with thoughts on if this will actualy make my truck perfrom better? that would be great thz

No need to worry. Lyndon can program for regular unleaded as well as high octane. I got the low octane tune on mine and it is a much stronger/faster truck.

 

As far as the 'core' that just means that you have to send him your old one after the new one is installed.

thx alot...gave me a little more confidence....now i can wait till this thing gets here.....one thing though he never asked me what octane i was going to run...will that be on the package or intructions when i get it?

You might want to just call him and ask. I know that he is backlogged a couple of days so if he hasn't programmed one for you yet, you can still make changes. Even if it's already been sent out, if it's not what you want, you can send it back for a full refund or ask him to make further modifications.

 

He's really easy to talk to. He's sending me my newest one on Monday. I asked him to change a couple of things for me. I have had mine since last May.

 

I don't remember getting much in the way of documentation. The best source is his website and this one.

What about your odometer when you get a Westers? Do you lose your mileage or is that stored seperately? I've been thinking about getting one myself.
