Engine Surging over 2700 RPM?

Hey Guys,

my trucks at the dealership right now, but i'm debating on to tell them about something..

The engine seems to surge(or get more power)AFTER 2700 RPM's.  Its like someone installed a turbocharger, and its kicking in.(not that much power though).

IS this normal, or should i have them look at it?

I've got a silverado, but my truck does the same thing, gets more power at a higher rpm, although it may have more to do w/ the performance mods that I have put on it that will kick in at a higher RPM

Mine comes on very suddenly. I decided to tell the dealership, and they are looking it over. They are keeping it untill tuesday..

Funny thing was that the service advisor sounded very concerned when i told him what was wrong. It was like he'd heard of this before, and the outcome was not good?

Oh well, i guess i'll just have to deal being without my truck for a few days...

Have you decided what your going to do with your truck in the long run???

I d like to say i want to jump into a nice bigger truck after my paments are done but that wont likely happen.. I dont want to sell my truck after 5 years because it will be worth squat with the amout of k's that i put on.. I was thinking of trading up now but i d lose at least a years worth of payment that i ve already put into my truck..

So i m going to do a lot of swaps down the road like after my financing is up i ll save up for an LS1 and if i dont have it by that time a BDS lift..

That opens the debat of big verses small. I stay with the big ones just because they seem to hold the value a little better.

Yea, i'm keeping it.

I just don't have the $$ to get anything else new... This site has drained alot, if not most of my extra cash.

I've been at my new job for a week, and so far so good.  I'm hoping to get a 94 corvette sometime over the winter as a nice summer car.

I don't think Zane will have to worry about losing value.

As many coats of Zaino he puts on it......  All he has to do when "The time comes" is turn back the odometer, put another coat of Zaino on it, and there you go, to the potential buyer, it's a brand new truck.:P J\K

(but there might be trouble if you keep it for 10 years or so....:P)
