Why don't people like Jeff Gordon?

He's not my favorite driver, but I don't hate it if he wins, and I don't love it when things like what happened today happen. Just wondering what people have against him? Seems like alot of people feel that way.

He was really the first guy to "make it big" in NASCAR that really didn't come from a "Blue Collar" background, and those of us that like the good ole days when guys hopped out of the car with oil all over themselves, bloody knuckles, etc. didn't like the image he brought with him. At least that's my take.

I think he's a pretty boy.......but I also think it makes the sport that much better when you have someone you can root against. I think he's a good driver, but I just like to see him fail. Kinda like it always lifts my heart when the Red Wings of the Flyers lose when I watch hockey....ya just gotta have someone to root agains. Also by fail I don't mean hitting a wall at 190, I mean getting a flat with 10 laps to go when he's in first place.

I like Jeff Gordon. I think he is one of the best drivers in the

sport. All of my friends despise him and none of them can really

explain why. Of course I like to add fuel to the fire by displaying

#24 wherever I can(HE HE).

I don't hate Gordon, I mean when he wins, he does put a Chevy in victory lane.

The last two or three years, he has been getting on my nerves though. When Gordon started, he was a pretty clean driver. Him and Everham had a good deal going and they won a lot. Over the last few years, his team has lost it's competitive edge which has led to him running over people a lot more. And when people race him like he races them, he gets upset about it.

I know, Earnhardt ran over a lot of people when he was alive too, but at least he started his career that way.

He's any easy target too. I have a good friend who likes the 24 car. When he got caught cheating on his wife, I was teasing my buddy about how he got caught in bed with another man and how the old rainbow car kinda all makes sense now. Especially since he's now gone to running a flaming paint job now. See, he makes it too easy by creating some good material to work with. But it's all in good fun.

BTW-Gordon can't drive a loose race car, I've heard him admit it himself in interviews. Loose=Fast.

Seems like there are quite a few pretty boys in the sport today. I like drivers that make it interesting to watch. Me don't care what the hell they look like.

No but he earned alot more respect from me when he won MArtinsville last year with no power steering for the majority of the race.

Anyway, I never liked him, I thought he was a pretty boy and he just got on my nerves in interviews. He's not as bad now, seems like he's not so bad since the divorce actually. But I would've still been happy yesterday, if I hadn't had him running for my fantasy team, any other week I would love to see him have that kind of luck and he wouldn't.

because he is a spolied little prick that gets anything he wants. Like when ther track broke on him at Martinsville and he wanted to work on his car under the red flag well if he got to work on his car then everyone could of worked on there car.

Alot of people feel the exact same way about Jr. I'm not a Gordon fan; I can't stand him, but I don't see him getting special treatment.

If that had been Jr who got the damage from the track all of us would complain if he didn't get to work on it and if he did everyone else would say that he gets special treatment.

Well i"ll tell you, i like Jeff Gorden, i thank he is one of the best race driver in nascar, i like Del JR, Stewart,Mikie Waltriff,Harvick, Hay i like any one of those guys that win in a chevy! you knew what mean? But i would like to add these, i thank the news media,the guy in the bouth ,Waltriff,and the other commentaders are being a lettle hard on Steward, i am an old nascar fan and i have seen a lot of drivers do what he has done,bumping from the back to side of other driver and nothing is said, for example when Del Jeritt cut off Harvick in the California race nothing was said. All kind of beatting and banging goes on. Don't youall agree. Louis:chevytruckman here.

As for the poor sportsmanship that is shown him at every race, gives the cup cars a bad name , and yes i'm a gordon fan . And as a matter of fact all of the old racing days when drivers worked on there cars and raced them are just about over! Then it must come down to people just hate a winner? O- look he just won another race!! Now they have another driver following the same path as him Kassy Kane & Everhand team. I wonder if they will show him the same respect when he starts to win ? The sport is changing everyday people/fans need to change too. This guy drives to a Chevy team and its a shame that Chevy fans boo him when he wins for the Chevy {Manufacture Points Race} .

People love to hate Jeff Gordon. Most people hate him for winning so many races over the years. He was the young punk in NASCAR but now he the veteran that people love to hate. I don't personally like him but you do have to respect him. And the talk about him being gay also makes me laugh!!!!!
