Problems from bug shield

I know this has been posted before for the windshiedl noise issue, and have read some of the posts & think I can fix it with the 3M tape solution. But my driver's side mirror vibrates like crazy as well. Not the housing, but the mirror itself. And it only does it with the bug shield attached. And only on the driver's side, pass side is fine. Has anyone else experienced this as well? If so, what is the fix?

I had the same problem with the windshield. I did the 3M tape thing and it solved the problem completely. It took about 20 minutes. Be sure to use alcohol and wipe everything down very well before replacing the moldings and be sure the weather strip is seated properly when replacing. However, I'm not sure about the rear-view mirror problem. Mine shakes a little when I'm above 65 MPH but usually not enough to cause any problems. You might try moving it a little either way or up and down (but still within your field of view) to see if the vibration will minimize. If that doesn't work then I'm clueless.

I have the exact same problem on my '04 Denali. I really noticed it on a recent long hiway trip. I'm going to do the 3M double sided tape for the windshield weather strip. As for the drivers side mirror, I don't have a clue how to fix that one. I'm going to ask the GMC service dept if they have any suggestions. Besides that maybe a modification of the bugshield itself?

Sorry for the lack of information. The truck is a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500HD crew cab. I have seen all the information on the window noise & am going to try it this weekend. But I don't know what to do about the side mirror. Drives me nuts, because I can see it out of the corver of my eye bouncing around.

Been reported often over at the Suburban forum.

The areodynamics has been worked and anything added messes it up.

No solution other than to take it off, or live with it.

Some bug deflectors worse than others. Why most today don't do anything significant for bug deflection, as if they did, they'd mess up the areodynamics even more. They are mostly for looks and rock guard for leading edge of hood.

The other common complaint other than vibrating side mirrors is wind noise. Not just windshield, but other windows along the sides.

Why I've not installed a bug shield, but did put on the side window air deflectors. They work well and no vibrations noticed.
