How do you lubricate the suspension?

Call me ignorant, but how do you lubricate the suspension?

I know it is sealed, but what happens if the seals break? The owners book doesn't even address the issue.

You have to replace the part. It has been proven that the average truck with out grease Zerks will last longer & are stronger since there isnt as great a chance of dirt & water getting in the joints. I take it your referring to the u-joints. The 4x4  steering has i beleve 9 grease zerks.

There are 11 zerks on most GM Trucks, some 4x4's have a 12th zerk.

Best HOW2 article is right on this forums "Guides" section and here is the direct link to the HOW2 grease the Zerks: HOW2 Grease and pictures of the zerk fittings

A grease gun is around $20 bucks for a good one. Another $10 bucks for synthetic or less for dino grease. Recommend getting the flex hose attachement for the grease gun. You'll know why after one session...

Grease them at each oil change. I do it waiting for the oil to completely drain. Only takes about 10 minutes, max, to grease my Suburban.

This is a little out of topic, but could anyone give me the part #s for all 12 rubber dust bushings that need to be lubricated on the front suspension. 3 of these are busted already, and I figure I better replace all of them at the same time.

It's a 1999 (1500) Z-71.

Thanks,

Damir

If the full-size is anything like my S-10, the OE dust boots are integral with the part. I had a tie-rod boot torn, they had to replace the tie rod end.
