Westin giving me the run around?

This is in regads to my rusty nerf bars. I have been awaiting a response from them for awhile now. I emailed them 3 wks ago.

 

ME: I was just wondering if you ever received the pictures of my nerf bars

You just have the black painted ones right? If so, Westin does not offer any warranty on the finish of them. Only the CPS ones.

 

Any warranty they have is for manufacturer defect only (i.e. weak weld etc). They use cheap mild steel for these bars and the paint isnt very thick. Down there they get exposed to everything, rocks, sand etc. Then it the winter they get coated in salt. Salt probably also works its way into the tube itself (since they are not sealed) and they will end up rusting from the inside out.

 

Bottom line you are SOL. Pony up for some stainless or CPS bars. If you like the black ones....I would suggest taking them to a body shop. Have them sanded down to bare metal. A couple coats of primer, a couple coats of paint, and a couple coats of clearcoat. Then polish and wax them, as often, or more often than you do your truck.

Definitely sounds like they are giving you the run-around. Maybe it would be better to deal over the phone?

UPDATE:

 

It has been a week since my last email from westin which was stated they were going to check with a manager. I havent heard back so I sent another message.

 

(i know you are going to say why dont you call them however the hours they are there I am at work and cannot make the phone call so email works the best)

 

I am almost to the point of sending these bars to westin and returning the brand new ones I have in my garage.

My new bars have been shipped also... I got a phone message from Westin last week and they offered me my choice of different bars or the chromed Ovals again.

 

Ryan, I PM'd you about this and was going to give you the direct ext # for Emilio, but I don't think our PM system is working very well on this site right now.

Thanks shaners but all is well. Its hard to contact them directly because of work and when i get home they are closed. Mine are slated to ship friday
