Well it has been a while since I posted last. Since my PRK eye surgery things here have been busy. Bought a new house, life at work has been busy. Kids activities kicking in with the nice weather, not to mention yard work big time.

I bought a 91 Jetta turbo diesel. I always wanted a duramax but had to settle for the VW Jetta diesel. :) The cost of driving to work was starting to get expensive on average of $40 a week. So now the miles will be on the Jetta and not the truck. It isn't to bad I guess. The truck will be 3 yrs old in Nov and it only has 52k on it. I did take it to Pa last weekend to visit the parents and got 19.7 mpg out of it. That was a good feeling. Didn't take the jetta because I just got it and want to make sure it will hold up.

The Jetta has 157k on it with a sun roof, cruise, tilt wheel, 5sp, rear defrost, ac, ps, pb, 4 brand new tires, new shocks in the back and struts up front along with a new exhaust system. The interior is in great shape as well. I picked it up for $1900. Don't think I did to bad. Just hope the price of fuel doesn't go to high.

The wife has a 2002 turbo jetta that we average about 40 mpg combination driving. I have a 2002 Passat GLX that averages about 23 mpg combination. Since the price of fuel went up the little turbo diesel gets the brunt of the miles which I don't mind driving since I had it chipped. The little diesel hauls the mail!! Good luck with it. And if you have any problems with it, the TDIclub.com will help you. As far as the price of fuel going up I keep reminding myself that bottle water sells for $1.50 for 16 oz which equates to $12.00 a gallon which puts everthing back it perspective.
