Timing Question

I want to check the timing on my 95 350. Factory manual says check sticker under hood. Under the hood it says: "disconnect the timing connector - Do not disconnect four wire connecter at the distributor". So where or what do I disconnect to get a timing light on it. / Thanks / J

on the firewall on the passenger side under the plastic cover that is held to the firewall with plastic nuts is a single wire with a connector in it. i believe it is the only single wire under there and if i remember right it is brown. just unplug it and set your timing. this is how my 1990 gmc is anyway, your 95 should be the same way because it is also a pre-vortec tbi motor.
