Steering Rattle

Own a 99 silverado, I've been noticing a rattle from the steering wheel/column. Happens rarely but it feels like something in the linkage from the wheel to the rack. The wheel itself is not loose. Steering shaft wiggles a little when i pull on it, this normal?? Is this just being felt from something else wrong up front?

The steering shaft will need lubed. It is a problem that is well documented by GM. I had mine done on my truck and hundreds of members here have also had the procedure done.

yep if its under warrenty theres a notice recall about this. But you have to be under warrenty.

Have had both my 2001 Tahoe and 2002 Silverado done. Warranty item if under warranty. Well documneted by GM. The service people knew all about it. Once lubed, problem went away. Don't know what your dealship will charge to fix it if not under warranty.
