I replied back with my problem..."Ditto on that one.Mine are doing the same.,So this morning I climb in and let the override out (been driving with it in the overide position for several weeks) and hoo-raa the lights stay off untill a mile up the road the lights start flickering again.Hope we can get some resolve on this one."

Well..I never did get them fixed and eventually they worked like they should.I figured it was a computer thing.Last week the problem  reared it's ugly head again.Anyone out there that has experienced this and could give a answer ? I would let it go,but now want to sell the truck and want everything in order.Oh yeah! 1999 ck1500 4x4 extended sb

Thanks

I have seen many dome light issues, some of which do some pretty silly stuff (like yours)

Most problems occur in your headlight switch assembly. If you have ruled that out, then many problems are also discovered under the drivers side carpet near the door moulding.

Remove the molding, and check out under the carpet for shorted wires. Look real close, as it doesn't take much to provide a ground to close that dome light circuit.

Hope this helps.

The usual culprit I find is the door pin switches on the OBS trucks. The NBS don't seem to have this problem since the switch is built into the latch.

Hi everybody! This is my first reply/post. New to the forum. I don't know if this helps, but I have a 1999 Z71 sb/rc, and I had a problem with the dome lt staying on after opening the L/F door. Traced a short back to the L/F courtesy switch in the latch/lock mechanism. Found the connector filled with water and green mold. Part was fairly cheap, about 40-45 bucks if I remember correctly. You may have a completely different problem, but it's easy enough to check. Just pull the door panel and check the connectors going to the lock mechanism. Good Luck!

Thanks all.I think I have narrowed it down to the switch pin drivers side. The door buzzer was acting up also,so I found I could rotate this a little to get it to stop when I closed the door.Fixed the light thing too when I did this.Looks like a DIY job.Anyone ever do this?

Thanks 99-2door...What is OBS/NBS?
