Alright, here's the deal.  We are in the market for a new vehicle.  We want one really soon.  Last night we looked at TrailBlazers and absolutely loved it....AWESOME truck.  But, our dilemma is whether or not to wait a couple of months to get a TrailBlazer EXT.  I don't think we would go wrong either way, but we're not sure what we need!  Please help!

I have a 2002 Trailblazer LT and absolutly love it.  I dont really have an answer for your question, except if you need them room for 7 people or plan on hauling ALOT of cargo I would wait.  If not, you can get the $2002 rebate now and maybe save a little money.

Either way I think you will be very happy

That is our view on this...We could save some money by going with the normal ones and so I am thinking maybe next weekend we will go look.  I think we will probably look at the Envoys, also, but I think the TB is ten times better looking...I guess it just depends on what we can get a better deal on...

The Envoy is a nice truck but its a little to luxury looking for me on the outside.  I go for the rugged outdoorsy type and the trailblazer fits it perfert.  Plus I dont have to give up any luxury items either    Rugged looks outside and goodies inside.

Personally I wouldn't get an EXT.  Why not just get a Tahoe for about the same price, I think the EXT might even be a tad bit longer.  I think the EXT sides towards the back looks kinda funny, they didn't spend enough time on the looks after they stretched it out.  You might want to check out the Bravada, that has a 5year/60000mile warranty due to Olds demise.  If you end up purchasing one soon, try and get one with a recent build date to avoid early on problems.

Thanks, people.  Tomorrow after school we're going by our local dealer to drive both a TrailBlazer and an Envoy.  I GET TO DRIVE!! WOOHOO!  My first test drive   .  I know the road I am gonna take too...HOPEFULLY the dealer will not ride with us.  He didn't when we test drove a Buick Regal there when my mom got her Accord...maybe he won't this time!  I wanna see what that baby'll do.  Okay I got carried away on that one.  If we decide we must have the 3rd row seat, then, I am sorry to say this, but we will be getting a new style Explorer!!  Either way I don't think we'll go wrong BUT I would prefer the Chevy/GMC!

Joe has a good point, and if yoou're not looking for an offroad vehicle the Olds is very nice.  The only problem I see is that if you aren't going to keep it and drive it into the ground, then I wonder if resale value in 3 years will be hurt because Olds will be out of business...

Ya I was very tempted to buy a 2002 Bravada instead of my '95 due to the 5 year warranty.  I'm going to keep this Blazer until it costs a car payment a month to keep it going, and I would have done that with the Bravada.  Couldn't talk mom into cosigning on a 25K loan though!

Plus with the Bravada, you'll have SmarTrak.  Although I guess this irrelevant since you have AutoTrac in the 4wd Trailblazer.

The only thing that I have a problem with, with the EXT is that it'll be slower due to the additional weight.

Well guys, it looks like we're getting an Explorer.  We're going to get it Saturday.  We are getting a 2002 Explorer XLT 4x4 with leather, sunroof, running boards, and the third row seat.  Its not so bad..I will survive.  LOL  Oh well....

The reason we are getting it is because we are getting around $9,000-10,000 knocked off of it!  Plus they've still got 0% financing...Like I said the best deal wins.  They're really nice too!  I'll fill ya'll in on it when we get it...Laters!

Nooooooooooo!!!  Not a Ford Explorer!!

J/K dude!  Hope you like it (traitor).

Come back and join us when you return from the dark side.

I'm totally teasing, I'm sure it's a nice rig. :sarcasm:

Alright alright...calm down!  We're not traitors....just cheap.  LOL  Don't tell me that if you could get $10k knocked off that you wouldn't go for it!!  I personally am excited.  Its not a TrailBlazer or an Envoy, but it'll do...two more days til we get it!  I honestly don't think they use Firestones on the new style Explorers.  The three I've seen since their launch have all had Goodyear Wranglers on them.  BTW--I'm glad the TrailBlazer's outselling the Explorer...LOL

Explorer's aren't that bad, if you knock 10K off one I'll take it.  I was up getting some work done on my truck at the dealership and they had a Trailblazer inside, I can tell you it's a whole lot nicer than my Blazer, but the sticker price was 34 over my 27.
