Tenatively have sold my beast

AS the title says, I have tenatively sold CMNT's big beast.

Being unemployed, combined with single digit MPG's and ever raising fuel prices have pushed me to do this.

The thing was awesome when it was a weekend toy and I had a job to pay for the go-go juice.

Oh, and trust me, I sold it for nearly 80% of what I originally paid for it, so the BBC holds it's value too Diesel boys. ;)

I hope you keep checking out the forum. You have been a great source of information on this board. I am sorry to see your considering the sale of your truck.

Thanks for all the help and good luck with the job situation.

My next one will be an oil burner, but temporarily, I may be stuck in a *GASP* car.

Good luck with the search, I know it can be tough. My brother was looking for quite some time until finding a teaching job about 2 years ago.

well if your going to be stuck in a car at least it's a GTO... :chevy::rolleyes:

truth is i'd rather drive my car on a daily basis, but to save wear and tear on it i use the trucks as daily drivers.

Well, he's coming at 10am tomorrow, up from Bloomington, IL.

I did the "Last Drive" thing today on the way home from the NHRA Nationals and I'm glad I took it instead of the Monte Carlo (as I was planning). The torrential rains we had, turned the grass parking lot into a muddy adventure. ;)

Anyway Frank, I've had my GTO since January 16th. :flag:

I ended up finding one locally (St. Louis). It was identical to the one I ordered and was the same price, so I put the money down and went and got it that Saturday after.

If I had stuck with my original, chances are I'd still be wiating for it and due to the job situation, not be getting it if you follow me.

if you want to drive a bigblock and in my area, give me a shout. okay, just joking. we hope you are able to get on better ground and rejoin us as a bigblock owner again. dont be coming back with no diesel! :flag:

I'm in the western suburbs of Chicago. I bought the GTO from Behlmann over on the NW side in Hazelwood.

I love BBC's, but that thing was killing me in terms of fuel economy. I realize I have a heavy foot, I drive in Chicago traffic and what not, but repeated tanks of 7mpg really kills you when gas prices are averaging $2.20+ here!

Stock for stock, it's quicker than the Camaro, stronger than the Camaro (283rwhp vs 314rwhp) but isn't as punishing as the Camaro. However, at the same time it is not as entertaining as the Camaro (realize that the Camaro is extensively modified).

It's nimble and quick on it's feet, and has the ride quality and feel that my Aurora did.

So it's got the balls of the Camaro in a MUCH more refined package.

Sorry to hear you had to say goodbye to your HD. I hope the job situatuion turns around for you. I never realized you were in the Chicagoe area though. I am in the South Burbs of Chicago. I hear you about the gas prices. I paid $2.31 for premium in NW Indiana yesterday... :flag:
