Unrestricted top speed?

What's the top speed?

I'm expecting the HPP3 any day now. What's theoretical top speed a FSC can climb to if no limiter was present? Any guess? I have an ecsb, 3.73, 5.3, tires are VR speed rated.

Well, seeing how in 3rd gear, your top speed @ 5500 RPM is going to be 140 MPH, I would guess your going to be in the 120-140 MPH range.

 

Aerodynamics will play a big part, so I'm not sure. I think 120 should be pretty easy.

Mine [might have gone] past a max indicated 120MPH on a deserted strip of interstate... I was scared my bugshield was going to blow off, but I think there was still a little left [if I really went that fast]... I had my limiter set with Wester's at 130, and it bumped it just for a second when I let off [maybe]. Aerodynamics play a big role, as well as gearing.

My Sierra Denali has a 120 speedo and I had it well past the end with my Wester's tune. Probably right around 130 and it was still pulling strong, but I came to my senses and chickened out!

Realistically 125-130mph. Definitely make sure your tires are up to the task though and be very careful, trucks really aren't designed to go that fast.
