how do i clean the throttle body on my 2001 1500 GMC pickup truck?

I just removed the air intake hose, sprayed throttle body cleaner, wiped away black stuff with a clean rag. Then spray throttle body cleaner liberally into the throttle body while holding the butterfly open. Do a search on this site for more info. It has also been said to make sure you use throttle body cleaner, not carb cleaner.

You might also want to clean the MAF while you are at it. This uses an electronic cleaning spray just spray on and let dry. Don't try to wipe off the wires and make sure you use the product that is safe for electronics.
