towing capacity

Can anyone tell me the towing capacity / performance for an S-10 with the 4.3? May be looking into a midsize when I trade mine in. HP rating, torque?

I recommend everyone to swing by a dealer and pick up a "Trailering Guide" it lists the towing capacity of every vehicle that is used for towing! For an S10 truck 4.3 2wd reg cab Auto, max trailer weight is 6000lbs. 4x4 ext cab auto, max is 5500lbs. I have the hole list if you need something else, like a ZR2 or a crew cab! I am not sure of the HP and Torque #'s but my 01 4.3 had 190 hp and 250 ft/lbs!

Thanks. I'll be losing 10 hp and 50 ft/lbs. Maybe they'll let me hook up to my boat for a test drive

How big is your boat?? I have a s10 right now that I am going to give to my dad when I get my 2500HD CC long box Duramax. I tow a 27 foot snowmobile trailer behind my truck. The trailer weights in at around 4,000 to 5,000 with sleds. If you trailer is close to that don't get an S10, going up hill is not fun with the truck at all, pulling that size load. Just my opion.
