BULGING SIDE MOLDING

Jus thad the body molding on the side of my 04 1500 ext cab changed and when the shop man took it off we noticed that every where there was a bulge on the front side there was a UPC sticker on the back. Our theory: The upc stickers are pressed on by machine and warp or stretch the plastic, or.... the plastic reacts with the glue from the sticker. I think it is the first of the two. Any comments are welcome.

I have an '04 Silverado with the same problem. Did the dealer replace the molding at no cost?

I've got the same thing...there's a bulletin out from GM stating that they had left those UPC stickers inadvertantly, and the moulding needs to be removed and replaced. I need to take mine in to get it done but haven't had the time....it only shows up during hot times (which are few in Alaska) and when it gets a direct, hot sun beating down on it for a couple of hours (which are also few in Alaska)!

Mine are like that too but I'm going to replace it with old style molding at some point

SORRY FOR NOT REPLYING BUT JUST GOT BACK IN FROM 22DAYS OFF SHORE. THE DEALER REPLACED IT AS WARRANTY PARTS BUT WE DECIDED TO USE THE TEXTURED BLACK MOLDING THAT MATCHES THE BUMPERS AND MIRRORS. THE REASON FOR THIS WAS THAT THE ORIGINAL MOLDING WAS MOLDED IN THE COLOR NOT PAINTED. BUT THE NEW MOLDING WOULD HAVE TO HAVE THE FRONT TWO PEICES PAINTED SINCE GM DOESNT SEND THE MOLDED IN THE COLOR FOR WARRANTY REPLACEMENT, BUT THE REAR PEICES ARE. SO WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF THEM MATCHING , SLIM. BUT THE BLACK LOOKS GOOD.
