Auto Climate Control Conversion

Okay, I'm interested in attempting this mod. I've been toying with the idea for a while now and gave up a while ago. Now, I'm determined to do this.

Does anyone have any info for me to help me out? List of parts, etc, etc.

Does the auto climate control use the same blower, fans and stuff and just different electrical stuff (sensors, bla bla) or is it a whole different system?

 

Any help would be nice.

I'd be interested if you can make it work without too much modification.  I'm sure you'll need the control head, an internal air temp sensor, probably a sunload sensor, and maybe a different blower motor resistor.

I think imort hater is on the right track.  I drove a truck with auto climate control, and the panel wasn't very sophisticated.

 

My wifes van has it... (Honda).  It has a few different sensors in it and when in "full auto" it is able to switch back and forth from floor to defrost to bilevel etc...  all on it's own.  I believe it has a sensor on the dash and another in the footwell area and it makes it's decisions based on the readings from both.  It  also has a digital temp setting.

 

The Chevy truck I drove with auto climate control, just had a dial...  blue to red...  cold to hot...  It may not be as complicated as the honda system.  The fan was automatic and would blow hard until the temp got close to whatever was dialed in...

Well if you can put a system together I sure would like to know. That is the one thing my C3 is lacking. I think that it would be pretty extensive to change out but I would love to try it.

I'm going to check into this. I'll add it to my list of projects. The list keeps growing and growing. Should be fun!!!
