Why no Blue/Tan???

I'm yet another newbie to the boards.  I had a 1995 Silverado (reg cab 2WD 5.7).  I've had a few other vehicles since, but I've continued to miss my truck so I just ordered a Z71 sportside Indigo Blue w/ Tan interior.  I had to order it because there isn't one on the planet (at least not in an 8 state area around Texas).  There is every other combination but this one (no offence to the other combinations, they're beautiful; I just had my heart set on this combo).  Did they have a problem with the combination?  Anyway, I should have her by the end of February / beginning of March.  I look forward to rejoining the ranks and tapping into the expertise on this board.

CityTruck.  I to have a blue truck and i have graphite interior.  I seen alot of trucks before i ordered mine (i mean alot of trucks i test drove 9 or 10 hehe).  I never seen a blue truck with tan interior.  I didnt even know they came that way.  Did you get leather?

Welcome aboard hope you get your truck soon

RyanbabZ71,

I did find one Blue/Graphite (very nice and also quite rare) but it didn't have the options I was looking for.  Plus it was in Kabul or some place prohibitively far away.  I didn't (couldn't) get leather.  The regular cab trucks don't have LT trim as an option and I can't afford it as a dealer installed option.  Thanks for the welcome.   :D

WS6Y2K,

Those are nice (MotorTrend truck of the year right).  There are several blue/tan trucks other than the Z71 Reg Cab, but I want to keep this little jewel in my garage and anything bigger than the little truck I've ordered wouldn't fit.

I see a lot of LT's w/ tan interiors.  Must be an LT thing though.  You may want to look at TByrne's suburban to check out the color scheme on theres.  The custom two tone they did compliments it nicely.

Welcome to the board.

If you want leather you can go to www.classicsofttrim.com and get it or www.shadetreeonline.com and order some.  Both look to be about the same quality, but I haven't heard of anyone w/ the shade tree leather seats.

Thanks Jon.  Yeah, there are dozens more options if I could have gone with an extended cab, but I've got to stick with my little city truck.  Price and size dictates what I've ordered.  I can hardly wait for it to get here.  :D   It's going to be a long 6 weeks.

do you have any mods planned (tires, nerf bars, etc?)

Sounds good.  What brand type of nerf bar are you getting?  Black or chrome? Just curious

I wanna hear from people who have or get the new westin black which has a lifetime warranty.

You know...  I don't know.  Chrome, but I don't know what brand.  I saw it on a few others on the lot and it looks good.  I have to spend a few minutes with the pro shop guys to discuss tint, tailpipe, nerf bars, etc...  so I'll find out what they've got.  Now I can ask about Westin Black.  Thanks  :D

Hey sml210,

Yours must be the one with the Gold and Purple Mardi Gras and LSU Tigers decor! hehe

Geaux Tigers

I had to get my 2001 HD through a dealer trade because the only 2WD RC LB Indigo Blue 2500 HD in stock had a tan interior (San Antonio, TX.) I wanted graphite.

    • You're better read than that Atlas. 😏   British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clarke's three laws, of which the third law – that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" – is the best known and most widely cited.   Stribeck and the pivotable Hersey Number isn't voodoo nor snake oil. That part is physics. It's what marketing and bean counters do with it that is snake oil and voodoo.    Stribeck is the relationship between Hersey and the Coefficient of Friction. Within the Hersey Equation if viscosity and viscosity is 'Dependent' on.......heat.......and.......viscosity index or the temperature to viscosity slope.    Specifically Hersey is the viscosity AT THE TEMPERATURE IN THAT LOCATION FOR THAT SLOPE.   Hydrodynamic lubrication exist when the film thickness in the location is 3X the Ra roughness of the surface. This is irrespective of the hardness of the substrate. To obtain that thickness X viscosity is required for Y velocity at Z load. That's a lot of moving parts. It is also impossible to maintain in an ICE but nearly possible with a turbine under constant load.    What does that mean? Error heavy and operate light. Wear is inevitable but the rate of wear and the milage obtainable are a function of prevailing conditions and HABITS. The only penalty is viscous drag and at fractions so low as to be well worth the effort. Double the life, half the manufacturing carbon foot print. Greed is the only impediment.    The materials generated by SwRI are the RESULT not an estimation or a hypothesis.    Don't delude yourself sir, EV's have as many pitfalls as ICE's. We just don't know what they are yet and it will take longer to sort as MARKETING and GREEDY CEO's have had more time to polish the turd they are selling.
    • You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.
    • Diesel hit $6.00 here today at the truck stop.   Payed $2.79 for E85 today too.
