First mods for more HP on Silverado w/6.0

OK, I got my new 2002 Silverado 1500HD with the 6.0 engine. What mods do you experienced guys recommend first in order to boost the horsepower?

 

I would imagine things like Air Intake, Exhaust, and maybe a chip but I am not familiar with the stuff available for trucks. Now if you wanna talk Corvettes, that's a whole 'nuther story.

Jim,   I'd get an air intake like the K&N and a flowmaster dual exhaust.  I would also get an HPPIII programmer and some new headers.  That's a sure fire way to give your truck a boost.

Jim, just remember these motors like backpressure in order to keep the torque numbers lower in the rpm's.  Headers will help along with an FIPK.  I wouldn't free the exhaust up too much unless you want to rev it up!!!  

 

You could also have Tbyrne stick a supercharger on it for you...  He had one on his 6.0L Suburban, and is now putting one on his 8.1L "Burb".

I'm not qualified to answer that question because I haven't researched it much.  I'm guessing a good "blower" would cost $3K-$4k plus installation.  It would probably add about 75-100 hp.
