No More Payments...

That is awesome!! Drive that truck for a long time and enjoy not having to right a check for it each month. Out of curiousity, did you do a 4 year or 5 year note? I have a 5 year that will be paid off in February of 2007. The check I will write this month is the 30th payment...I am halfway there!

I plan on driving this truck for 8-10 years, although the mileage will start to get up there around the 5th or 6th.

congrats - its a great feeling isnt it!

now the hard part - put the old payment away every month and save up so that you never have truck payments again! Thats what I am trying to do...

Yes, paying mine off early was probably the smartest decision I've made in the last few years. It helped me to be able to put that payment money back in the bank and save for the house instead of letting my cash sit in the bank earning next to no interest and paying the interest on the truck.

It was a 4 that I refinanced into a 3 about a year ago. I bought the truck in 8/2001 used with 25k miles. I had some $ that I needed to do something with so I decided to get rid of the 5.5% loan instead of making 2.5% on it just sitting in the money market account.

I'm thinking about a new GTO or a '89-93 Corvette race car. After putting an LS1 in my '70, putting one in a C4 should be easy.
