cd changer help

Recommended Posts

I got talked into not ordering a truck and taking one off the lot that was close. it had every thing i wanted but the aloy rims, cruse control, and a cd player. they kicked in the cruse control, i changed my mind on the rims. the salesman told me i could get a radio alot cheaper from an aftermarket than i could from them. went to the circut city and was informed my radio was tied into my computer, uh.. no thank you. long story short.

i need a hot wire thats on with the key on. any help would be great.

think of wiring another fuse box from the battery, correct fuse at the battery.

Radio is somewhat tied to the computer, but there are adapters out there that enable you to put an aftermarket deck in without harming anything, and retaining all features (like OnStar, door chimes, etc.).

As for the wire...If nobody has answered this by tomorrow evening, PM me, and I will send you the info. It's on my home PC (I'm at work, so I can't dig it up right now).

I have a 2004 GMC 2500HD. I had the “upgraded” AM/FM CD and cassette player from the factory. I added an aftermarket Alpine AM/FM DVD/CD player head unit, Alpine CD changer, sub, amp and new speakers front and back.

There are numerous options for stereos and CD changers. There are adapters so that all the chimes, airbag sensors and Onstar will work.

I had all the work done at Circuit City. The one I went to had knowledgeable sales people and installers and have absolutely no problems. If they don’t know what they are talking about go to another store.

These trucks are easy to put new stereos and other equipment in. Just find a place where they know what they are talking about.

still scares me to let some kid, with his mind on some cute girl or something, work on anything that messes with my trucks comp. I was young once.
