Prob. a topic discussed before however i'd like to know who likes what? I'm about to purchase some speakers for the doors and would like some input. I dont think i'll be installing an amp in this truck but will consider it. I have a powered bazooka tube that I just installed under the back seat and need to upgrade all the stock speakers starting with the front. Actualy as I write i'll prob. purchase new speakers for the rear as well.

Thanks :D:fume::cheers:

I used Polk Audio from Crutchfield...I've had no problems and I love the sound. I'm sure you'd be happy with just about any good name brand. Stock Speakers are cheap and they suck!

My 1/2 Cent.

I second the infinity components. I have the 6.5s in the door and the tweeters on the dash. They need power to sound good though. I'm supplying mine with 100watts rms per channel. They kick ass. I've got pioneer 6.5 threeways in the back doors for rear fill. Their gettin 50watts rms per channel. Your deffinately going to need an external amp with components. If your going with after market stereo with decent built in amp you could get away with regular speakers.

I agree

The infinity components are nice. I always use Kicker Resolution components in my trucks. With a good set of components you will need an external amp. Otherwise stick with some upgrade 2-ways or something like that.

Ok,

I have the speakers "Infinity 600cs" component speakers.

Q. Is the crossover needed or does the truck allready have one? (for the tweeters) :D:):crackup:

You need the crossovers. The facotry tweeter has a bass blocker capacitor on it. I have Orion P-Series 6.5" components in my door. I'm running them from an alpine head unit. They sound good, but I know they could sound so much better with a separate amp.

Welcome to the site. I don't know who you are or where you are from, but with a "tag" like that, you gotta be OK!

VH was in concert about 45 minutes from me a couple nights ago and I could not go, due to harvest. I will find them somewhere this winter!!

Sorry to hijack the thread!!

Haha, thx man! Yeah, VH is playing in Houston as I type this right now. I live in Katy,Tx, which only about 30-45 min(or longer depending on traffic)from where they're playing. I could've gone, but I couldn't find anyone else who wanted to go. They're playing in San Antonio, Tx next tuesday I think. I might try and go to that one and just take off from work on wednesday. They've been one of my favorite bands for a long time now.

I would definintely add Boston Acoustics to that list! May want to give some MB Quarts a listen, too. But, BA has my vote. Will be in my truck when I get the funds for 'em.

I'm in need of one of the OEM woofer (i.e., larger) OEM door speaker. My tweeter is fine. What are you going to do with your speakers when removed. Hopefully you didn't toss them. Let me know. Thx.
