how about the 05 sierra?

I see you got the Duramax and Allison Tranny, how does it pull the 605ft lbs of torque? Arent the GMC's suppose to get a bigger look and higher stance for 08.

This is my first diesel so I don't have much to compare it to, but so far it's been impressive. My prior truck was a Chevy 2001 2500HD CC with the 6.0. My '05 with the Duramax is so much more powerful than my '01 with the 6.0. When I used to pull my 9,000lb fifth wheel camper with my 6.0, I spent quite a bit of time in second gear if I was going up hill or against a big wind. With my Duramax I set the cruise & sit back & relax - the truck has yet to shift out of overdrive while pulling up hill or against the wind.

I was expecting a bit more in the way of MPG however. So far the MPG is only marginally better than my 6.0. (8 mpg pulling; 14 mpg city; 17 mpg highway) ...but there's alot more power, so I'm not too upset.

Other than the diesel, probably the biggest improvement over my '01 is the new Bose sound system. ...It's so much better than the stock stereo that was in my '01 LT.

No idea on the '08. ...that's a long time away.

Looks like GM is starting to get the idea that their truck line is lacking a "tough" look. Will be interesting to see how much of a change comes in the near future. I will not be in the market for a new truck probably till 2012. By that time I should have enough saved up to buy one.
