5.7 vortec oil pressure

Just curious. Mine is witin spec, but I expected it to be higher. I'm use to 40 psi at idle warm, and my truck is 20 psi (warm at idle in gear). I run 40psi while driving which is plenty. GM's specs are 8 idle and 25 at 4000 rpm. Just seems low compared to what I'm use to.

 

What do others trucks run?

My 99 Suburban is right there with you. It's got 135k on it. If I remember correctly the relief valve on the SBC is set to start opening at 35 PSI

At 50k I had 20 psi at idle and 40 psi while cruising. At 95k it is has the same numbers.
