Exhaust Mod

I am getting ready to get a new cat back. I have it down to the 70 series flowmaster or the 77 series raven. I like the sound of the 5.3 in the 77, but can't find one around here on a 6.0 to compare apples to apples against the 70 series. Does anyone have any info on these. I am also torn between what way to exit the pipes. I would like to go straight out the back for noise reasons, but one good creek crossing or steep incline and they would be smashed So that leaves me with what out the side mode to go with. I think the behind the wheel at a 45 with long chrome/SS tips would be nice. Does anyone have pics of their exhaust so I can compare them and/or get some ideas? Thanks all.

well i dont have the 6 liter but i can tell you that you wont be disappointed with dual split rear magnaflows, my buddy has one and he got some mpg and some power and a noise rumble

I had a 70 series Flowmaster on my 98 Z71...it was throaty, but wasn't very loud, but thats the purpose.

On my 03 HD with the 6.0 I had a 40 series Flowmaster on it and it was VERY loud. it was good at idle, but when you puched it and it downshifted...wow!!!

I kept the stock exhaust since it was 3inch, just welded in the Flowmaster

hey man i have 40's delta flow on mine just used the 3" stock just had them welded in place of old muffer 2 of them that is VERY LOUD but that is what i wanted man so good luck from what i hear those 70's are perfect for a 6.0 b/c of resonace. good luck and happy truckin man

Thanks for the inputs. If I do go with the 70 series dual in/dual out, will I be gaining anything over just welding in a 70 series to the stock pipes? Just curious. Thanks.
