Quick Escalade 6.0L question

Hey guys,

Got a complete long block from an 02 escalade (6.0L 345HP) sitting here. Makes noise when cold from piston slap, and needs pistons.

Anyway, I'm looking to get a '98 or '99 LS1 Camaro soon and was wondering if the short blocks were interchangeable between the Escalade motor and the camaro's ls1? If so I was gonna build up the short block 6.0L and put that in my camaro.

Thanks for the info.

Get a 422 Stroker kit from SLP. The compression is higher on the LQ9 in the Escalade. It has beefier rods and different pistons too. The 01+ 6.0's have awesome flowing aluminum heads! I dont think putting a cast block 6.0 into a camaro is a good idea though. Your gonna add a bit of weight up front. Other than that it will all bolt up and the computer connections will hook up. EXCEPT for the injectors. LS1 and truck motor injectors are different. If you use the LS1 injectors on the 6.0 you will have to shim up the fuel rail because they are taller. You might also need to use the flywheel off of the LS1 too. Ive got a 6.0 im gonna stick a cam in today. You will make some nice power though. Stock cam in that 6.0 wont pull near as high as that LS1 will, gotta remember that. Stock LQ9 cam doesnt have the tight LSA of the LS1. The 6.0's are torquey. Cam it, put in some ARP rod studs and drop that baby in!!
