Hey guys, I have been using a very cool program to help tract and remind me to do PM items on my vehicles. you can keep tract of up to 10 different vehicles not only for reminders but also keep records of part numbers where you bought them and cost.

 

Auto Maintenance Pro 9.0 is the name of the program, you can try for free for 30 days. they also have a program called Fleet maintenance Pro for more vehicles and small repair shops to track customers vehicles

You could do that yourself in Excel in about an hour....If you're decent with it anyway.

No, because I would never fill it out.

 

I think that I might have a couple of them at home though...I'll look when I get there in a couple of hours.

 

Hmmm...Got me to thinking though...I do get mighty bored at work sometimes....Maybe I'll whip one up next week. If anybody has any suggestions on what to include, drop me a note. I might give it a shot if I have time.

I did the excel spread sheet for a couple of years, and it will work.

 

But Auto Maintenance Pro is much better for me, "all in one" data base with a cool GUI. I like the feature of putting a actual picture of my yukon on the screen with all of the information.

 

I looked at a lot of different warez on the net and this one fits me best.

See that is the hard part, getting started on what to include and how to best format it. I'd like to see some others to get ideas.

 

I did look at that Auto Maintenance Pro and it looked pretty good but I already have Excel and would like to give that a shot before spending $40 on it.

How does it keep track of mileage driven so that it knows to suggest maintenance, unless you have to enter the mileage, daily, weekly, monthly, never (in my case), or does the software calculate it based on something?

 

Spreadsheet would be just as easy in my opinion.

I use a spreadsheet in Excel. My dad whipped it up. I track every fill-up in it, I also track maintenence, such as fluid changes, filter changes, tire rotations, nothing as small as when I changed light bulbs or anything like that. I also track the fuel cost and the cost of the maintenence I do. I don't go into such detail as the actual part numbers used, that's what the sales slip from buying the part is for.

 

Not sure if I'll track modifications in it also. I haven't done too many mods yet, when I start I may do that...
