Polishing buffers

What's your all's opinions about this? Variable speed or single speed buffers. I'm looking at a 7" Craftsman single speed and a Harbor Frieght variable. Thanks, Chris

variable. If your gonna buy one get the most versitile you can. never know what you may do with it after you buy it.

Having been around body shops all of my life and after buffing many cars and trucks I'll suggest to go with the variable speed. Without some experience you will burn the paint in real easy. I have a variable and you can get in tight places with it. Beware- Keep the buffer moving and stay focused on what you are doing.

I really like my makita variable speed polisher. I use it after color sanding panels after fresh paint, works wonders.
