Nav radio upgrade

I am looking to do the Nav upgrade to my 04 Silverado. Do any of these models come with XM? My stock radio has XM, 6 disc and Bose w/sub.

Thanks

If you're referring to the OEM replacement,

They don't come with XM, but you already have it.

It'll adapt. XM, OnStar, RSE, etc will operate as if you had the Nav unit with your truck originally. XM is NOT part of the head unit.

Remember, you will lose your 6-disk capability unless you order a separate dash mount or remote factory CDX and harness. You can add this at any time later.

HTH!

Yes, before or after. Doesn't matter at all if it's the factory kit or XM direct.

As far as any action goes, maybe just the presets, if at all. I can't recall what the presets did, but big deal, right?

Thanks.... I plan on adding the XM to my Bose system sometime "soon" but would like to take that XM addon and transfer it to the NAV system if/when I do it.

The XM connections you have now will be the same with the (OEM) Nav HU. Regardless of the "premium" or "Luxury" type.

That's IF you have the type(s) mentioned prior. Other's interface types should work too, but there's always one that's weird. Besides, the Factory retro and XM - Direct will have the nice display and control on the Nav screen.

I hadn't tried a full-functional check with an XM-Direct on any nav screen yet, so ask around!

XM direct may work. Connect it now to the OEM radio with the GM adapter but only buy it if it has an adapter for the Alpine model you want, also!

Hi, not to hijack you thread, however you both seem to know what your doing. I have a 2005 Tahoe, and I want to replace the factory navigation radio with a factory navigation radio from a 2007 model. does anyone know if it can be done?

Hi. I am in the process too of upgrading to a 2007 Nav unit. My problem is that I got the one that needs the Bose Amp to work. I already had it programed and have it installed. I want to obviously figure out the amp issue, I would also like to add a screen for the back seat, I have a crew cab 2007, so I can play DVD's as the Nav unit has a DVD player. I would also like to do the backup camera as well. Anyone have any ideas. Thanks.
