snap in ventvisors.....

I've been planning on installing a set of AVS ventvisors on my truck soon, and found a 4 pc. set of the traditional stick on (3M tape) at a local store for $44. I've ;hctually had good luck with the 3M type in the past on other trucks; however, I ran across these:

In Channel ventvisors

for not much more money. Just wondering what everyone's opinion of the in- channel visors is. My only concern is how the power windows will close with the visor installed. Opinions appreciated. Thanks!

I aked the same queston with varied results. Some hated some loved. With mine being a EC I had to use the stick on ones if I wanted the rear windows covered. I figured if i have to do 2 why not all 4. I like them. No complaints. Easy to put on crooked.

I have the in-channel vent visors (front only) and I love em! No glue to worry about cleaning off if you take em off ... no need to worry about the glue coming loose either. I have power windows and they don't seem to have any problem, though I don't know these vent visors would work as well with roll-up windows. My dad bought my old pickup from me, a Nissan hardbody, and he has the in-channel ones too, but with arm-power windows. :ughdance: Anyway, when the top of the window enters the channel you can tell its noticably tighter so that last little bit takes more effort. Of course the difference in channels on our pickups and that Nissan may be plenty for it to be no prob even without power windows. My $.02

I personally like the external glue on type. If you want to remove them, you can replace the 3M tape eaisly and replace it with no problem. I have the tape type on my truck and do not really know they are even there. Very nice.

I have the in channel on my truck. Had them for over a year now here in B.C. where it rains everyday!

I like the clean look they give to the truck up close. I do only have the fronts because I could not find any for the rear aside from the stick ons.

You will NOT be dissappointed. careful installing them because you can break them.

Totally agree.... have used them on the '99 GrandAm and my Z71. Very smart looking and have caused no issues with the glass channel. No eye-balling to get them to line up right. Everything is perfect. I didn't get any for the rear EC windows.

I've never tried the snap on style. I put the stick on type on a '92 Yukon I had and didn't like the wind noise.

However, they worked great for removing methane caused by a little gassing problem in a hurry :ughdance: .

I elected not to put them on my '99 for that reason. I'm not a smoker so don't need them for that reason. I don't leave my windows cracked open when parked due to dust and crap.

I have the in channel vent visors...I think they're made by VentShade or something like that, can't remember right now...anyway, I absolutely love them. :ughdance: Nice clean look, and no glue. Personally I'm not a fan of putting glue on my paint job, but that's just me. The windows go up and down no problem, and so far, they haven't loosened up...been on there for over a year. You can get an idea of what they look like by clicking on the link under the picture in my sig.

The stick on type are easy to use.  Just exposa a little tape, stick them on and center them, then pull the balance of the tape out while they are against the truck.  Tape, Done.

Sounds easy but, I think my open window insert visor close window is easier though.

Good point, but I'll "stick" to mine!

He he, he said "STICK" :ughdance:

I had a set of visors on a different vehicle that was in channel but also had tape. The weathertech snap in and can be removed and re-installed easily.
