Tahoe 2 Door question

I have a 99 Tahoe 2 door and have a question... on the passenger seat, on the left side seat bottom extending out from the side is a 1/4 or maybe 5/16" or so metal "loop". I find no mention of it in the owners manual, and it does not appear to move easily. Is it some sort of a rear release?

Thanks!

Fellow Newbie,

I work for the seating supplier on these trucks. I am an electrical engineer, however must deal with all hardware "mechanisms". This "loop" you spoke of is not a release lever. It may be part of the easy-entry linkage. Any lever meant to be operated by the end user (the customer) will be clearly labelled and easily accessible. I believe you have a lever on the backside of the seat that should be identified. Don't know if this helps, but I am positive that a 1/4 or 5/16" anything on the seat is not intended for the customer to operate it...

Cool...I think it's Johnson Controls that does the Trailblazer seats.

They have a shop about 1/2 mile from my house, and the entire neighborhood hates them. They have more lights than Joe Robbie stadium, and make more noise than the crowd at Mile High after an incomplete pass.

Seats are comfy though...So are yours :seeya:

No, it's just a name that some drinking buddies from Minnesota gave me many, many moons ago.

It was either that, or pisstank. Those Minnesotans are sure weird.

Fan of the Wings? Not hardly...I'm an Avalanche fan. :dupe:

Sorry. I'm from MI and obviously root for the home team. Sorry about the CO Avalanche situation you have. it's a shame

Anyway, any questions related to seating...let me know. I should probably post something to that affect in my profile?

I have a 99 2 door Tahoe.

You are talking about the litte metal thing with the plastic coating.

All of the bucket seats with the easy entry have that, even in extended cabs.

I think it is so that when you push the seat forward the seatbelt latch will stay in front of that tab and not snag behind the seat. That way you won't have to fumble for the seatbelt.

That sounds like the most reasonable explanation for it!

Thanks, guys!!!
