Demolding

I'm thinking about demolding and taking the chrome trim off of my fender wells. I've seen pictures of demolded trucks that are a solid color, and they look awesome. But my truck is two tone, so I'm not sure if it would look good or not. Does anyone have any pics of a two tone truck demolded? I've gotten rid of my front bumper that had the molding on it and the back one will go soon too, so I'd like to take off the rest around the truck. I think it would be so much easier to wash and wax without that molding.

I took off my 1500 decals on the sides. It was a total PITA but it looks sooo much better now. It really smooths the side of the truck nicely and helps it stand out a little from the rest of the trucks out there.

I think I will do it to my 04 too, just going to wait for the weather to warm up...

btw, expect some blisters when your sitting there rubbing the double sided tape off with your fingers...

Eetsa gotsa no treeem.

But to agree with above posts, I have quite a few door dings.

I'm also considering putting the moldings back on.

I'm thinking about debadging mine("1500" and Z-71 logos), but the moulding is staying on. Mine is a Storm Grey Metallic/Pewter two-tone, and my moulding is pewter, and I think it accents the truck very nicely. If my truck was a single color with black moulding though, I might take it off. But since my moulding is the same color as the lower portion of the body, I don't think it would look as nice if I removed it. Know what I mean? I'm very paranoid about door dings also. I always park really far out where no one else does if possible.

I just posted something about this in the Heavy Duty section

I ordered my Sierra HD without the 4x4 decals and also took the badges off. I'm now thinking about pulling the mouldings too. The truck will be about a foot higher soon so I don't think I'll have to worry about door dings :chevy:
